Beshear Responds To Armed Protest Threats, Petition For His Impeachment

(Frankfort, KY) - Governor Andy Beshear is responding to threats of armed protests at government buildings and a petition calling for his impeachment.

Beshear said Tuesday that impeachment petitioner Jacob Clark has posted vaguely threatening videos as a way to intimidate him, including one where Clark is seen with a handgun while saying God will "smite" the governor.  Clark says he didn't intend to threaten the governor.

The governor said the videos send a message to people like those who stormed the U.S. Capitol and the armed militia group that rallied in Frankfort.

Beshear says authorities are aware of potential threats to government buildings, including a rally at the state Capitol planned for Sunday.
