President Trump Adds Cameron to List of Potential Supreme Court Nominees

WASHINGTON-- Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron is on President Trump's list of potential future U.S. Supreme Court nominees.

Trump released a similar list of could-be judges during the 2016 campaign in a bid to win over conservative voters.

While there is no current vacancy on the court, 87-year-old Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been battling cancer, and three other justices are in their 70's and 80's.

Daniel Cameron is the first African-American attorney general of Kentucky, and a protege of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.  He earned a law degree from the University of Louisville and clerked for a federal judge, but he's never held a judicial position.

Cameron is currently investigating the police shooting death of Breonna Taylor.
