(Cincinnati, OH) - Three Kentucky doctors, a dentist, and an office assistant are being charged in connection with a federal opioid crackdown.
The Justice Department says doctors in several states were prescribing powerful opioids in exchange for sex and cash.
Speaking Wednesday in Cincinnati, Assistant Attorney General Brian Benczkowski said the 60 indictments against doctors, pharmacists and medical professionals in multiple states marks the single largest prescription opioid law enforcement operation in history.
The task force is comprised of officials from multiple government agencies across the states of Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Alabama and West Virginia.
