FRANKFORT, Ky. - Gov. Beshear announces a new executive order recommending all school districts offer or expand in-person instruction beginning March 1st, or seven days following educators' second dose of vaccine.
Beshear says this is up to individual school districts, some who elect to wait 14 days after the second dose.
The order requires everyone to wear face masks at all times. And if six feet of social distancing isn't possible, schools will have to reduce density in classrooms.
On vaccines, Gov. Beshear says the vaccine you can get is the one you should take. He says Kentucky is receiving more than 152,000 doses this week.
Talking about the transition to Phase 1C, Beshear says it’s going to take some time to get to everyone. There’s more than 1 million Kentuckians in this phase.
Beshear announced 1,497 new cases. The positivity rate is at 6.30 percent. That’s the lowest since Nov. 4.
He reported sixteen new deaths.
