Groups Hoping To Block Kentucky's Photo ID Law File Federal Suit

Californians Vote In Special Election On Budget Ballot Measures

(Frankfort, KY) - A newly filed federal lawsuit is aimed at blocking Kentucky's photo ID voter law.

The suit was filed Wednesday by several groups, including the Kentucky chapters of the American Civil Liberties Union, League of Women Voters, and NAACP.

The organizations say the law will increase voters' risk of exposure to COVID-19 during the November election.

The lawsuit also disputes Kentucky's decision to not expand the vote-by-mail system to be used in November.
