(Washington, DC) - Senator Mitch McConnell says President Trump is not a racist.
McConnell told reporters at the Capitol Tuesday that it's time to lower the temperature and elevate the political discourse.
Talking about the ongoing dispute between President Trump and four minority Democrats, McConnell noted that politics is a contact sport but suggested that both sides calm down.
A huge controversy erupted over the weekend when Trump tweeted that the four Democratic lawmakers should go back to their countries, despite three of them having been born in the U.S.
