After Allowing Girls to Join Boy Scouts, The Girl Scouts Are Firing Back

INJOOn Wednesday, the Boy Scouts of America announced girls will be able to join the program and will be allowed to go through the process of obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout. The announcement of the decision was met with heavy criticism.

Now its sister organization, the Girl Scouts of the USA, have weighed in on the decision, and the Boy Scouts are not going to like what they have to say.

“We've had wind that this was in the works and we were somewhat surprised that this was a unanimous decision [by the BSA board],” Chief Customer Officer for Girl Scouts Lisa Margosian told BuzzFeed News. “We've had competitors come and go and this is yet another competitor.”

“We're disappointed in the way the BSA handled this,” Margosian further stated. “We've enjoyed a strong relationship and partnership with them over the years and we're disappointed that the BSA didn't discuss this with us to say 'we're having trouble with our membership.'”
